Toronto to host Juno Awards in 2011

“I am very pleased that the City of Toronto is bringing the JUNO Awards home to Canada’s entertainment capital to celebrate its 40th anniversary,” said Toronto Mayor David Miller. “The 2011 JUNO Awards, in combination with winning the rights to host a number of other important international events, will boost Toronto’s economy and enhance the strength of our vital tourism sector.”

Juno-related festivities will take place starting March 21, 2011, with the awards themselves taking place on March 27 at the Air Canada Centre. This year's Juno Awards take place April 18 in St. John's, N.L.

Apple Holler’s Red Barn Theatre to Hold Auditions for 2010 and 2011 Season.

Apple Holler’s Red Barn Theatre has been a destination for upbeat musical entertainment for more than a decade. Its intimate performance venue allows guests to have a unique dinner theatre experience that is personal and interactive; an experience that Red Barn Theatre guests have come to know, expect, enjoy and that keeps them coming back for more.

The Red Barn Theatre will be holding auditions, by appointment only, January 19th – January 29th. Those auditioning may be considered for open roles in the following productions: C’mon, Let’s Twist and Shout – A Rockin’ Tribute to the Beatles, running February 11th-April 25th, 2010; Trouble at the Tropicabana – An I Love Lucy Murder Mystery Spoof, running May 17th – July 31st, 2010; Car Hops and Bobby Socks – Remembering Life and the Music of the 1950’s, running August 12th – November 14th, 2010; Spine Tingling Tales of the Creepy, Deranged and Mysterious II, running October 1st – November 6th, 2010; as well as for the to-be-determined 2011 season.

Ideal candidates will have the following skills/traits: strong vocalist and performer, able to work well in an intimate performance environment, skilled with audience interaction, a team player who is enjoys working in a collaborative environment, a flexible and friendly personality and a non-equity performer.

Red Barn theatre offers weekday daytime performances as well as weekend and weekday evening performances. Performers need to be available, with advance notice, for daytime and evening performances. Compensation is relative to skill and experience.

The Apple Holler Family Farm is located between Racine and Kenosha, on the west Frontage Road off I-94, just north of highway KR, at exit 337. Apple Holler is a restaurant, bakery, gift shop and apple orchard, and features many entertainment activities, including the Red Barn Musical Theatre shows, children’s shows, barnyard animals, outdoor play areas for children, hay wagon rides, horse-drawn sleigh rides, a seasonal flower market, and fall apple and pumpkin festivals.
